I don't think I agree here. By the same logic, should we do away with automation? Automation has certainly reduced the need for human labor.

Well I can argue that point because I work with automation. It hasn't reduced the need for human labor, it has just reduced the need for uneducated human labor. It takes a lot of effort to build, program and debug an automated system but you can't take a guy from the assembly line and have him do it. Cave man put part in machine but not know how to make machine go. Although due to the mafia errrr unions, the line worker gets paid more than many educated automation personnel.

You forget that women that work also consume. The whole thing just becomes a much larger market. They can own property, invest, and produce as well. You make it sound like women entered the workforce and took chunk out of a static job market where in reality the entire economy just grew and grew. You have clothing and makeup industries that thrive entirely on women for example.

This is true but the women made similar contributions through home economics. Men who earned a single income salary were able feed, clothe, house and support an entire family. The house was in order because there was somebody home to make sure it was in order. Your economic model might be viable if everything wasn't manufactured in China

And with the two income families we have seen the biggest growth in standard of living ever the fact that today we living in the West have it so good is because of the two income families. That actually dates back to the early industrial revolution or even before the urbanization of the Western Nations. So the one income family has been for such a short period of time in our modern history but for some reason it is still sticking around.

It is all good if it is a fair exchange. As Flamenkita has been saying over and over, she doesn't think such a deal is fair to her and she doesn't want to live that way. The problem is she is being told to STFU and get back in place. THAT is the real problem (that's why I call it slavery). I have no problem otherwise if a woman and a man willingly enter into such an agreement.

No body is telling her to STFU. The reason I see Armenians not being able to compete with immigrant Indian or Chinese families IS because everyone in their family makes a contribution. Indians are notorious for having hard science degrees. You think one man in the west can make the income of an Indian or Chinese immigrant family? Basically, what many westernized Armenian women want is to live their life carefree under their parents roof then expect somebody else to flip the bill when they want to move out. Well the world is changing and that western model is outdated. Education does not equal income.

Actually in most countries it isn't based on the debt levels, here in Europe the highest debt people have is their mortgage that they on their homes, which gives them also tax benefits as well. It is not because people in NA cannot handle all the money that they earn and they are top earners of the world when not including countries like Monaco and Luxembourg.

When we look at Armenia during the Soviet days we can see that two income families was the norm and only now the idea of woman should stay home is coming up, I don't think many people could imagine something like this in the SU because there the state said that you had to work.
So again I'm wondering where does the idea that single income family is the norm in the world because for most of our modern history it hasn't been the norm, especially during WWI and WWII.

That is precisely the problem. If for some unseen circumstance, you can't make payments on the home... well, you know what happens. Communists are probably already hawking to see how many homes will be lost to statesmen if there is an economic anomaly.
