By the way, water quality and clean food and drug laws were first put in place by Teddy Roosevelt, a republican.

Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

What I'm taking seriously is the bitterness. And I'm also making an attempt to demonstrate to all who would have Bush castrated and tarred-and-feathered that your vitriol does nothing but solidify your opposition. Funny that Democrats try to say it is Bush driving a wedge through the nation.
I'm also pro-gay marriage and against the war, but guess what? Kerry was against gay marriage and would have continued the war. I don't believe that these were your deciding issues. You sound to me like one of those people who would have voted for a cadaver over Bush. And for what? Did you bother taking a look at the candidates respective platforms? Kerry's was riddled with inconsistencies and promises that he could not possibly have delivered on. Did this make any difference to you, or could he have been running on the "know-nothing" platform and won your vote?

It's true that Kerry is against gay marriage and abortions, but, unlike Bush, he wasn't going to try to change the constitution (which I know wont happen even if Bush tries) to make them illegal. I preferred him because he had his point of view and beliefs but also believed in the right to choose, which is more than Bush has to offer.Last edited by ckBejug; 11-12-2004, 02:02 PM.The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F. that was a great example bejuk... you should not have put joe in the name, it should have been Anonymouse, after all he takes EVERYTHING he has for granted...
i have so many friends that are republicans, but my friends, and my family, have NOTHING to do with this fanatical extrimist administration, come on... think about it... one of the greatest plots of ROVE is to make it seem like the dems are just like the republicans, so that people who are slighly more conservative would choose to be republican, while every time there was a republican in office, we've had no prosperity in the economy, and the largest deficits... i dont know how fiscally conservative republicans are but, throughout history dems have been so much more fiscally conservative then any republican... there is a difference in the TYPE of spending, and a lot of times thats why smart people who know what they want choose a party...
republicans spend much much much more on defense and attempt to privitise.
dems spend more on education, and other social programs, they spend more on the FBI and CIA, but they dont spend that much on defense...
so if you prefer one type of spending versus another then its clear what you will choose... but again, this administration has completely hijacked the republican party... one of my most favorite republican leaders is McCain... he is great, he is so smart, i would LOVE to have him be our president... but this adminstration WALKED all over this poor guy... McCain and SOOOO many other REAL republicans ar against this war and against this administration... for example Bucanan:
this is his book, he is a true conservative...
he is also the the lead in this editorial i think its called the american conservative and it is GREAT, i read small pieces of it, and they were SOOOO AGAINST this war and the deficit, and the spending, and the insane privitisation, because they were the TRUE conservative Republicans of this country and they were completely against this adminsitration...
so i have my favorites from all parties, and i think to choose one all the time or to choose NONE all the time is completely wrong... a normal person lives somewhere in the middle and just because you are pro-choice and NOT against gays, does mean you dont feel conservative about other things in your life... for example in the money you spend or how you would like the bank to make sure your money is guarded...
loseyourname, dont you think that if we have control of the oil in iraq that we shouldnt be paying $2.90 per galon for it? when we didnt have control of it we were paying $0.99 up to $1.50 the most... but aparently this administration like to make profits and the LA times reports this in the back of the paper editorials where ordinary people wont read it... but the real conservative and the real republican would read it... Exxon, Mobil, and Taxaco have made Record breaking profits in the hisorty of their compnay... the CEOs have raised their salaries but regular workers have not gotten the same raises they used... for example all companies used to give the minum raise which was the inflation factor, but now its half of the inflation factor for the past 2 years...
i love living in the US and I love being who i am an Armenian, i am not a dem or a repub, i am a person who will choose a democratic idea for one part of my life, but if i feel that the repubs offer a better deal in securing my money, or, providing better healthcare, then i will choose them...
but the reason this thread was started was to show what dems have done to better this country... so i guess if you want to refute it, then please tell us what major accomplishments the repubs have done to make our lives better, and dont say slavery because we know that all the republicans of that time changed parties after many years of civil rights movements, amendments to allow women to vote, and etc... in essence the repubs of then are the dems of today...Last edited by Siggie; 11-12-2004, 06:29 PM.
