Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Adjuvants just make the vaccine more effective with less antigen. Some people will take the vaccine, some won't. Some may die from the flu, some may die from the vaccine. In the end it won't matter either way but billions of dollars will be exchanged in the meantime.
Who's going to die from the vaccine? Why are you exaggerating? The vaccine is inactive/dead virus... It's getting the N1H1 virus that is producing fatalities. Even the adjuvants are safe, read the above source.
As for the cost... Yes, we're talking international sales so it's in the billions. But you're failing to compare the cost of vaccine to that of lost work and the cost of medical care and hospitalization for those who are infected.

Cost-benefit for the regular influenza vaccine makes it worth getting; I cited at least one study that analyzed that. I imagine it would be the same with N1H1.

Some people are on the verge of death and the slightest bit of shock to their immune system from stress or excitement will do them in. Then of course an entire autopsy needs to be done to make sure the person didn't die from the vaccine but because of an underlying illness.

Gadag genes? They don't vaccinate those with compromised immune systems with careless abandon. That's absurd.

Come on, there are people that get reactions to the slightest thing... don't tell me there won't be some statistics.

We've been down this road before....

"Throughout 1976, the swine flu story swung between fear and farce. In August, Ontario's health minister announced the province's first swine flu death, a Goderich man. This, as it turned out, was untrue. A coroner later determined that the victim, who choked on his on vomit, had never been infected.

At Queen's Park, politicians debated who would get the scarce vaccine. All agreed on police officers and doctors. But should bank tellers be vaccinated? And what about bus drivers?

In the U.S., Nobel Prize-winning scientist Linus Pauling argued that Vitamin C would fight swine flu better than any vaccine. Here at home, the Toronto Star helpfully suggested that those inoculated against the virus should be required to give up the right to strike.

Ontario's government hemmed and hawed until, in the end, it decided to offer the vaccine to anyone who wanted it.

Alas, few did. By December, the Star reported that municipal clinics set up in Toronto to offer free flu shots were shutting down for lack of customers. Which perhaps was just as well. For when several Americans developed a mysterious and deadly paralysis after being inoculated, swine flu shots were abruptly suspended in both countries.

In the end, the only known death from the 1976 swine flu pandemic was the original army recruit. Outside of Fort Dix, only two other people caught the bug. They both recovered. "

The vaccine or pandemic of 76 is neither here nor there. They have confirmed deaths here. However they are saying it's comparable to the regular flu. The problem is that it's a new strain that people don't have immunity for (unlike the seasonal flu).

Are you asserting that medicine and vaccine formulation/production have not seen any improvement in 32 years?

Media hype is media hype... still the same companies making money. The deaths due to "swine flu" have been less than those for the seasonal flu. As far as whether or not medicine and vaccine formulation has improved or not... we still haven't been back to the moon remember?

How does this make any sense? We haven't been back to the moon because there's been no reason for an expensive mission somewhere we've already been therefore medicine and vaccine formulation have not improved. Is that was you're saying? What kind of logic defying reasoning is that?

Found a map that details the extent of swine flu's reach. Black is swine flu deaths, orange is confirmed cases of swine flu.

Guess which country is swine flu free surrounded by countries with the infection

There hasn't been a reason to improve flu vaccine formulation either. The production of it might be faster but the formulas are still the same. People will buy into anything that is available since it's not something they can make at home. And you still can't prove whether it has benefits. My father used to get them and got sick just the same. Others I've spoken to had the same experience and then there are those that swear by it and it helps them. To each his/her own.

I posted references for efficacy. It is effective.
