Obvioulsy these concepts are not everyday discussion from everyday people - however the ethnic & racially based issues are now more discussed in Turkey - as (for example) I saw 2 years ago with Kurds much more openly proclaiming themselves and their culture then when I had visited 10 years before. Also 10 + years ago very many Turks in Turkey I spoke to were excited about the newly independent Turkic nations of central asia and the (future) role of Turkey as leading a new Empire (essentially) with them included and that the greatness of the Turks would rise again - and so on. This attitude has been acted on by Turkish leaders through broadcasts of Turkish language/Turkish made programs to these nations and through other efforts. ANd more recently we see more expressions from many Turks along these (racial and Empire based) lines.

(something is cooking) They dont tell us about supporting Turkic countries ... Also Russia had been complainig about Turkish support to Chechens (i dont know that in english) ...so i suppose you are right
