When people speak Western Armenian, I understand most of it, but they use some words that Eastern Armenian never uses (usually conversational), usually from Turkish and Arabic. Also the vocabulary that one uses from Yerevan differs a lot from the vocabulary of a western armenian diasporan. We use more Russian loan words which is a big factor in the difference and for some words that Western Armenians use English to say, we use Russian. Also as all of you know there is differnence in grammar and spelling aspect. For example, tun@ lav e տունը լավ է (the house is good) is Eastern Armenian when spoken ա (a) is used, but as you see for writing է (e) is used of course. Also house in eastern is spelled տուն while I think in western it's spelled դուն.
