  • Re: Learning Armenian from Armenian people

I would say that 'artiok' gives simply emphasis to a question. 'Artiok sa jusht e?': 'Is this right?'/ 'Artiok nrank k'gan?': 'Would they come?'

Also in "Նա գտնում է թե ինքը դառնում է", which I know it means "He finds he is becoming"...but why is the "թե" there? Or maybe I am translating it wrong?
As for 'te', in addition to what has been said, I'd like to add the following. Sometimes it can be used to put emphasis on two things, for example: na te mekena e uzum yev te tun... in spoken Armenian, sometimes 'ham' is used instead; 'ham sa ham na'...

Also, I wanted to ask what is the difference and the use of the different forms I've found of "բոլոր"...for example "բոլորիս", "բոլորիդ", and "բոլորը", because I fail to understand when and relating to what I should use them.
"բոլորիս", for/to everyone of use, each of us
"բոլորիդ", for/to all of you, each of you (plural)
    "բոլորը", everyone

If you're in Manchester, you could visit the Armenian church on Upper Brook Street.
The congregation is very mixed Eastern/Western and quite a few Russian speakers too.
Services are first Sunday of each month, I think they're on summer break now until September.
              If you're in Manchester.

Ok so I'm trying to learn Armenian, but its really hard to do. For those that learned Armenian and speak Engish as their first language, how do u think is the quickest, best way to learn?

Also, Im wondering....the Armenians in Israel...Armenian quarters in Jerusalem, what kind of Armenian do they speak there?

I think there is no quick way to learn a language, it takes much effort, patience, and a good memory. I think the best way to learn for good is to start teaching you on yourself, that is to say, to start analyzing the language, to search tools for you too learn (like webpages), to search for like news websites with translations to English (that way you can try to see how to say phrases, o how to conjugate words...a dictionary will be also useful), to start accustoming to the language (listen to music, for example)...you can find many ways to do it.

Also, where do you live? Because you can buy courses or attend to some if you live near an Armenian community.

If you want, I could provide you with useful webpages to learn Armenian, courses, dictionary, etc.

As for the Armenians in Jerusalem, I don't really know.
