Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

There is no problem unless you express your identity. The problem is not having a Kurd president. Problem occurs whenever (s)he expresses that (s)he is Kurd. This is like expression freedom. Thinking whatever you want is free. You say "There is no obstacle in thinking". Of course there isnt unless you express it. Obstacle exist in expressing, not in thinking/being.

I stated and once again: A single example doesnt prove that the generalization is valid (This is called accident fallacy). Fallacy! Can you see?

According the WEP Report-2008: Participation of women to political life and equality of genders index, Turkey is at 123rd rank and Iran 116th. Tunis, Jordan and UAE is 103rd. There are lots of international organizations report like this.

Laugh at yourself. Yes, i am a math genius but this is irrelevant to the issue.

1-you are pronouncing my grandfathers as murderers, the coarseness begins here.

2-this site's name is armeniangenocide.com, comedy theatres looks more serious and realistic to me. arguments and counter-arguments are for serious ppl and platforms. so dont expect this seriousness from me at this platform.

3- The problem occurs when (s)he starts to ethnical nationalism in politics. being kurdish or speaking kurdish is not a crime. ( i am half kurdish and proud of it.)

4-its funny i am showing you an example but u cant show me an example and you r saying that only one example doesnt prove anything. can you see the falacy??

i do not consider WEP Report-2008 as dogma, i need to know whats its criteria?

      1. You donot have to be loaded by sins of Ittihadists. Which one is your grandfather? The mass murderer Kemal the Boghazlian governor or Muftu Abdullahzade Mehmed who says "I am afraid of God" for the Armenain massacres? I have chosen the second one.

      2. Nothing to say! You exhibit your aim by saying not to see any necessity to be serious. You have come just to shout and cannot show any braveness to defend your ideas.

      3. What will we do about Turkish ethnical nationalism which is established by the constitution and many decrees? Is saying "Could you give me a glass of water please" in Kurdish, in the comprehension of Kurdish nationalism? But a deputy is being tried for saying this. Thanks to God, speaking Kurdish in public areas is not prohibited for a long time. But it was.

      4. I stated there are lots of reports indicating the situation. One more:

According to Human Development Index Building the Capabilities of Women Section (2008): Turkey is in 101st rank through 108 countries (Syria 93rd, Rwanda 65th, Panama 64th...).

Dead Writer And People Who Cannot Speak Kurdish Sentenced For Speaking Kurdish

The court sentenced Fidan, who was killed four years ago, Erbaş, who was not at the scene of the supposed crime, and Kalay to prison for speaking in Kurdish. Erbaş and Kalay do not even know Kurdish.

        Bia news center - Manavgat

        18-12-2008

1st Criminal Court of First Instance of Antalya sentenced fifteen people, among whom Poet Şükrü Erbaş and Hikmet Fidan, a Kurdish politician who was killed in 2005, to prison for nine moths for “talking n Kurdish” during the election process.

The incident that eventually brought the sentence was the speech given by Fidan at the opening of the election bureau of the Democratic People Party (DEHAP), closed later, in 2002. Erbaş, who was a candidate in the elections, was not there at the time, but his name was on the list of the invited.

The ruling has been protested in a press release by various writers and intellectuals lead by Aydın Çubukçu, Sİbel Özbdun, Zerrin Taşpınar and Ali Balkız at the Yüksel Street in Ankara.

Gürgöz: They sentenced the person who died four years ago

Lawyer Nusret Gürgöz, secretary of the Antalya Branch of the Contemporary Jurists Association (ÇHD), told bianet that the fact that Fidan who died four years ago showed what kind of trial they ha face.

According to Gürgöz, Erbaş and Şemsettin Kalay do not even know Kurdish and some of the people were not even in Manavgat, the place where the opening took place. Gürgöz said they appealed the decision for four of the suspects and they will take up their defense once the judgment is reversed.

Those who were sentenced are Celal Gülsavan Budak, Cevdet Çağlar, Şükrü Erbaş, Şemsettin Kalay, Yılmaz Yavuz, Ahmet Tozluyurt, Hikmet Fidan, Mehmet Gündüz, Rukiye Altılar, Hazne Yıldırım, Cemil Aktaş, Ömer Açar, Adnan Koçak Demir, İhsan Yıldız.

        “Tragicomic and strange trial”

The victims held a press release at Antalya Journalists Association on Wednesday (December 17), describing the trial process at the time when the authorities are claiming they are going to take steps regarding the Kurdish problem as “tragicomic and strange.”

Erbaş said the problem was not him, but the inability to speak in Kurdish in public space and daily life without being under pressure.

Writer Hasan Kıyafet, too, stated that all the languages, including Kurdish, needed respect. He said he was punished forty years ago for describing Kurdish as one of the languages he spoke well at the back of his book published in 1969, and the Kurdish language is still a trial cause today.

Cevdet Çağlar, head of the Antalya province for the Democratic Society Party (DTP), said he was sued 67 times for similar reason.

Kalaycı stated that the authorities were alienating and punishing all the candidates from the DEHAP and the DTP for being Kurds. (EÖ/TK)

I'm interested to know if you speak Kurdish, if you do, where do you speak it?
In the shops/cafes. At work? At home?
If you don't speak it, why not?
