I consciously chose the word humanity instead of "the US." Honestly, I actually thought about that and deliberately chose the broader word because in my opinion it was more an accomplishment for the world than solely the U.S.
In science and more broadly even, we're always building on the work and knowledge of others. We publish and share findings globally in our fields. Therefore, it would be incorrect to say it was only the U.S.'s accomplishment because it belongs to the whole of humanity. Thus, the quote (which I think is PERFECT for Google Scholar) "stand on the shoulders of giants" because we're always building on what was done by those who came before us.

So I guess it's really you who thinks US = world because that's certainly not what I meant.
Thanks for projecting your negative pre-conceptions about Americans onto me again.
Again, the world doesn't revolve around YOU. My reply was to Sip

If you think that an accomplishment such as traveling to the moon (even though it never happened) was a great achievement.... what exactly did "humanity" gain from it? Did they not find oil on the moon so they went back to killing people for oil?

The name France comes from Latin Francia, which literally means "land of the Franks". Originally it applied to the whole Frankish Empire, extending from southern France to eastern Germany. The Franks were Germanic people. Also, Germany is a rather new "state" in terms of history.

Even during Napolean's rule, there are claims that there were plans to take Palestine and create a J3wish state.

Bonaparte and a J3wish state in Ottoman Empire

During the siege of Acre in 1799, Bonaparte prepared a proclamation declaring a J3wish state in the area of Palestine within Ottoman Syria, though he did not issue it. The siege was lost to the Ottoman Empire and the plan was never carried out. Some historians, including Nathan Schur in Napoleon and the Holy Land, believe that the proclamation was intended purely for propaganda purposes, and that Napoleon was not serious about the creation of a J3wish state. Some believe that the proclamation was made in order to win the heart of Haim Farhi, the J3Wish advisor to the ruler of Acre, Ahmed al Jazzar, and to bring him over to Napoleon's side, as Farhi was the actual commander of the defence of Acre on the field. Henry Laurens holds that the proclamation never took place and that the document which supposedly proves its existence is a forgery.

I suppose if you're ideologically trying to rule the Muslims in the middle east via Communism in Russia and Capitalism in America, it would make sense to defeat the crescent moon. Think about it.... J.F.K was a prophet of sorts to the American people. He said America would reach the moon within a time frame and it happened. What do politicians know about rocket science or space travel....

In actuality, France is just as imperial and murderous as it was in its hay days.
