Did you know, that according to Dan, there is no real definition of anything, because words actually mean something other than what they mean? So your friend was not a virgin.

etc etc etc. like I said above, just because our opinions are relative doesn't mean there's no absolute truth. But you can't force us to have an ABSOLUTE opinion on what a word means.. no such thing exists.

Here's a typical conversation between a couple of anti-relativists who insist that there is a clear-cut definition of losing virginity:

Person A: Virginity is not relative. It means "sexual intercourse."
Person B: Yeah, virginity is not relative. No, it doesn't mean "sexual intercourse", it means "insertion of penis into the vagina", which implies that gay men are technically virgins.
Person A: No no, losing virginity is about having sex. Period.
Person C: Hey guys, I agree that the definition of losing virginity is not relative, but it means that a guy who's having sex with a girl for the first time reaches climax.
Observer: So how do you all know that the term is not relative, and that losing virginity is in case of Person A: sexual intercourse, in case of Person B: insertion of penis into vagina, in case of Person C: a guy reaching climax?
Persons A, B, C: Oh, we *know*!
