I wonder what happened to the proud strong Russian Armenian lobby in Moscow and how could they just standby without objection in Kremlin when these high tech weapons of mass destruction were being sent to Azerbaijan. wtf

The results of Artsakh war against Azeries and Russian "Koltso" operation showed vividly that Armenians are not puppets. You'll feel it once again and again.

You forgot other factors that helped the armenians win this war. Like Russia blocking a Turkish invasion, or the massing Iranian troops on Artsakhs borders?
Also Russia's goverment was actively supporting us with arms and helicopter transportation. There was even one incident were two russian sides fought each other, one pro-azeri, one pro-armenian. There can be no denying, Russians were involved in the war.

The feeling is that Russia is intentionally doing everything to ruin its relations with Armenia. Igor Muradyan, for example, thinks that a group of people in the Russian leadership is pursuing the aforementioned goals, perhaps in order to prove the failure of Putin’s foreign policy.

Anyway, this group seems to be close to its goal. All the recent initiatives of Russia caused protests in Armenia. Like never before, Armenians are sure that Russia is isolating Armenia from all regional projects, Russia seizes all the infrastructures of Armenia, it initiates a race of armaments in the region which will lead to a new war. They are saying now that Russia has sold to Azerbaijan the most terrible mass destruction weapon – Smerch.

Does Russia really want to ruin its relations with Armenia? Does Russia have a common policy for Armenia? The impression is that everything is done chaotically, proceeding from the interests of different groups in Moscow. If Russia had a common policy for Armenia (it also means a common policy for the larger region of Minor Asia), it would try to strengthen Armenia instead of causing disgust towards Kremlin.

In Armenia, in answer to Russia’s policy, specific proposals are made, such as withdrawal from the CSTO, demand to withdraw Russian military bases from Armenia, abolish the agreement on strategic partnership and nationalize infrastructures which now belong to Russia. There is also a proposal to announce willingness to join NATO and the EU, settle relations with Iran and put forth territorial claims to Turkey.

These proposals which are now voiced at the level of some politicians and experts are gradually becoming logical answers to Russia. Moscow is used to “unilateral” dependence of Armenia on Russia. It is believed that Yerevan cannot present any claims to Moscow. But this is a wrong opinion. Perhaps, claims have already been made, otherwise the monsters of Russian military diplomacy Patrushev and Bordyusha would not bother to visit Armenia.

The public opinion in Armenia is challenging Russia. If five years ago over 90% of the Armenian population supported relations with Russia, 2 years ago 75%, recent studies found out the current percentage is 61. It is not due to the pro-European policy of Armenia but the mediocre policy of Russia, or rather the lack of policy altogether.

Another similar step, and it will be hard to save the relationship between Armenia and Russia. It is already in danger. Questions are asked to Russia from Karabakh which used to be the stronghold of the Kremlin policy in the region.

Hardly anyone in Armenia would like to cut ties with Russia, and the Russian leadership will hardly bring the matter up. Though, unfortunately, the current steps of the Russian leadership do not seem capable of rational assessment of the situation. But everyone needs to understand that if relations between Armenia and Russia are ruined, responsibility will be on the Kremlin and its current leadership.

One has to look at how assured Russia feels about it's position in Caucasus. Look at two chechnia wars, Georgia's withdrawal from Russian umbrella and the war. Appearently not very highly.
It is not very reassuring for Russia that Azerbaijan has lot of money and could turn into a western client state very quickly and even lead the muslim population of the area and middle asia to a western/turkish platform. Actually, there would be much much support for Azerbaijan for any anti russian moves by europe, USA, Israel, oil reach arab states etc.(this support is allready there). Once Azerbaijan establishes as a western military client, others will follow too.
It is interesting how, despite cooling relations, russia feels that she must sell arms to azeris in order to keep other suppliers (competitors) and influences out of the area as much as possible. Maybe gabala worked on russia to azery calculations more than we think. For them Georgia is lost, azerbaijan must be kept in russian sphere, even if it means angering Armenia.
I don't know you guys, but I feel that it is much easier for us to deal with a russian supplied enemy then western/turkish/ israely equipped one. Believe me azerbaijan wants and will arm itself no matter who is the supplier. While russia is cheaper then the rest, it is also our strategic partner and by purchasing large sum of armaments from russia, azerbaijan knowingly plays into russian interests and prevents russia from lending total support to Armenia.
Interestingly that plays in our interests too like a double edged sword. Nobody can guarantee that we can keep the balance if azerbaijan goes out of russian military doctrine and we have to deal with western (NATO, israel etc) equipped enemy with our russian weapons.
I think, it is in our interest and russia's too to keep azerbaijan in russian armament sistem. We can deal with it much easier. Especially if the supplier is a strategic partner and can help us in balancing the situation.
Maybe we are overreacting to last sales just like our ministry of defence says?

Gegev you need to stop making a mockery of yourself and your hollow arguments-you are sounding more and more unintelligent. Like i wonder why Turkey did not interfere during the Kharabagh war? Could it be because they were scared of the mighty Armenian army? I think not. So i wonder what stopped it from overruning us? You speak but you do not think therefore you are hollow.

“Yes sure” if Russia didn’t interfere, during the Arthakh war, the rest of world would love to see, with pleasure, how Turks were completing the AG. This is the only scenario; your level of “intelligence” can digest. I hope this kind of "answer" you are “able” to understand.

If Syria’s adversaries knew how strongly Russia felt about the future of Syria they would not have started this misadventure.
Now Russia has to take late and desperate efforts to negate their efforts.
