Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

2. Ossetians are Iranians who are Christians - they overlap Georgian and Russian territory:
Who are the Ossetians?
By: Dr Oric Basirov 2001.
"As late as the closing decades of the 4th century B.C., the Iranian peoples were still the largest and the most widespread group within the great Indo-European family.... Fortunately for us, the Huns could not push all the Alans out of their homeland; their descendants, known as Ossets, are the only Iranians who still live in Europe; they call their country "Iron", which is a variation of Alan, Iran, as well as Eran. Eran [Arran] was the name of the Iranian Transcaucasia before it was lost to the Russians in the 19th century and subsequently renamed Azarbaijan.
Ossets are mostly Christian, speaking Ossetic, or as they themselves call it "Ironig", or "Ironski", which is classified as an Eastern Iranian language. Ossetic maintains on the one hand, some remarkable features of the Gathic Avestan, and possesses on the other, a number of words, such as, thau (tauen, to thaw, as in snow) and gau (region, district) which are remarkably similar to their modern Germanic equivalents.
This modern Iranian nation, still provides a physical link between the Indo-Europeans of the East, and those of the West, that is, most people of Europe; such a romantic link, it will be remembered, had already been established thousands of years ago by their blond and blue-eyed ancestors."

* "The Greek historian Xenophon mentioned that the Armenian leader allied himself with Cyrus, the king of the Medes (an Iranian tribe). In the famous cuneiform script of Darius I, son to Hystaspes (Vishtaseb), dated 521 B.C. and found at Bisutun in present-day Iran, it is written: and I conquered Pontos and Armenia. Thus, in 521 B.C. Armenia is presented to us for the first time in modern history." Note: If you go to the City of Van (in what is now Turkey) and you go to the walled city where the old Armenian Churches are, you will find an inscription of King Xerxes from 485-465 B.C.
* Vologaeses IV of Parthia (Iran) = Father of Khosrov I of Armenia.
* "The Arsacid dynasty, ruled Persia for more than 400 years and upon whom Armenia was dependent on because of several close ties (among others their common political goal of fighting against the Romans and the blood ties between their kings ), was dissolved and was replaced by the Sasanid dynasty as the new masters of Persia."
* "Persia during the reign of the Sasanids, especially in comparison with Europe, reached a high degree of development and experienced great success. It could efficiently strike down the savage tribes in the north who tried to destroy their ancient culture. The Sasanid court glittered with luxury and elegance and Persia (Iran) has the Sasanids to thank for the historical valuable items and j*wels that the country can boast of today. The influence of this dynasty on the Arabic world was even greater and we can say that the Caliphate in Baghdad was itself a kind of an heir to the Sasanids since much of their administrative organisation was based on that of the Sasanids."
* The Armenian alphabet, which consists of 38 characters, was created in 405 A.D. by a monk named Mesrop Mashtots; First printed documents appeared in Armenia in early 16th century.Last edited by Persopolis; 03-18-2011, 10:26 AM.

The prevalence of Georgian-Armenian intermarriage is a fact, and yes it was due large part to common religion, as we were essentially a Christian island in a Muslim sea, and often worked together throughout history. Us becoming Christian, was a defining moment in our Armenian identity, defining, it united us as a people and really shaped the Armenian identity and culture that we know today.Մեկ Ազգ, Մեկ Մշակույթ

Re: Iranian-Armenian relations
Political analyst, Head of the Chair of Iranian Studies at the Yerevan State University, Armenia’s former ambassador to Syria David Hovhannisyan says:
"The United States wants to blockade Iran, and our very positive relations with Iran are at risk. We must never forget that all roads were blocked during the (Karabakh) war, only Iran’s road remained that was our road of life."
"In Baku, they say that Iran has ‘spoilt’ the whole effect of the blockade by Azerbaijan and Turkey against Armenia: 'During the war, Iran rendered every assistance to Armenia. And, it was through Iran that Armenia gets a considerable part of its foodstuffs and industrial goods, which makes the blockade imposed by Azerbaijan and Turkey ineffective,' " says Sofiev. The Azeri expert says that at least 20 million Iranian Azeris have no schools to study in their native language, while 250,000 Armenians in Iran have several national schools.Last edited by Persopolis; 03-18-2011, 11:44 AM.

Can anybody comment on the factuality of this?
Bibles are burnt in Iran, while Christian world keeps silence
March 18, 2011 - 19:46 AMT 15:46 GMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Recently, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps revealed in an Iranian settlement a great number of Bibles in Persian language, which had been burnt there.
According to one of spiritual leaders of Iran Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani, “the Christianity and all non-Muslim religions are fallen and they should be eliminated,” Asr Iran information website of Christians reported.
Unfortunately, there was no relevant reaction to the fact of Bible burning in both Iran and the Christian world.
One should not be surprised with this – the Shiite orthodoxies cannot speak against Bible burning due to a simple reason - they indeed consider Christianity to be evil and Satan’s display.
It should be noted that bishops of the Armenian Apostolic Church, specifically, the leader of Tehran diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Sepuh Sargsyan, and Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, His Holiness Aram I condemned the cases of Quran burning in the U.S.
Anyway, burning of books is a barbarity, but in this case one can say that the Christianity and Islam fight to the death in the 21st century.Մեկ Ազգ, Մեկ Մշակույթ

2) Funny thing about the flag, it is reported that when the blue strip ripped off, there was a big scare in the Azeri politicians and Aliyev as the thought it was a sign of Karabakh being separate from Azerbaijan.
3) Funny one moolt.Last edited by Mos; 03-18-2011, 05:48 PM.Մեկ Ազգ, Մեկ Մշակույթ

AN EASY WAY TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE:
* Iran hangs spies & separatists - but Iranian law explicitly respects 4 official religions: Islam / Christianity / Zoroastrianism / Judaism.
* Saudi-Arabs don't let women drive and cut hands off / Saudis preach that Christians should be killed. Ottoman Turks are Sunnis.
You should post where you got that from - it's interesting to learn the source. It's likely from same type of group that says 'Armenian Snipers Shoot Turkish Kids.' It's basically on that same level of nonsense. Iranian people are actually known for being very educated and nice: e.g., 73% of Persians in the U.S. hold an advanced degree (Masters or higher). This is much higher than the national average.
FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION: SOMEONE POSTED THAT STORY TO PAN-ARMENIAN.COM, BUT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ANYBODY. THAT STORY DOESN'T EXIST IN ANY OTHER NEWS SOURCE I COULD FIND. (IF THAT GUY ACTUALLY DID THAT, HE WOULD LIKELY BE ARRESTED.) THERE'S NO SOURCE FOR THE STORY; NO AUTHOR FOR THE STORY; NO MEDIA-FEED FOR THE STORY. HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS.
SECOND FOLLOW-UP: AS I SUSPECTED THE STORY IS PUT UP BY BAHAIS IN ISRAEL - PFFFFFFFFFFF.
HERE'S AN EASY WAY TO UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE -- IRAN WOULD 100% BAN THESE "CHRISTIAN PREACHERS"
Iranians are not dumb - they will not allow psychos import this crap into the country. But there is no issue with established Christian churches. Armenians are real Christians - not a bunch of TV psychos.
