As we have reported earlier, the Armenian government has allocated
from the reserve fund 20 million 500 thousand AMD Ministry of
Health of Armenia to continue the treatment of head of the "National
Self-Determination" Party Paruyr Hayrikian.

Government's such a decision has caused much discontent.

Lurer.com talked about this with a deputy from "Prosperous Armenia"
party Tigran Urihanyan.

"It's a shame that Armenia can not conduct such treatment. Shame is in
this context, but not to assist a person. I even welcome it. But the
fact, that RA doctors can not solve this problem, it is indescribable.

I have a very negative attitude to that, and I think that the Minister
of Health should give an explanation, why the consequences of such
injuries can not be treated in Armenia.

As the press service of the Ministry of Health informed Lurer.com,
they will later make a statement and will provide the necessary
clarification.

We must not forget the factors such as economics, that determine what treatment is available there. People critisize Armenia, forgetting that there are facilities or specialists that a 3mln country cannot afford.
How can Armenian government establish lets say sertain medical center that a country of Germany's size has one or two. Or US has only 3-4.
There are medical conditions and threatments that accure only a few in million population and need hundreds of thousands of dollars expenditure to establish treatments. Imagine, half a million spent for a facility and specialists that a country will need for only a handfull of cases. And in medicine, there are handreds if not thousands of diffrent kinds conditions like that. Doesn't make sence. No need for negative attitude. Especially from people who are not qualified in medical field, like Tigran ulikhanyan.
Not only Armenia, but much larger countries too, cannot afford certain medical facilities or specialists.
And for Paruyr Hayrikian, I think, Government did right. Imagine if money was not spent and he suffred or worse, died. Now, I am sure there would be many many more, complaining that "what a country, cannot save life of big political figure".
You see, one thing Armenians do good is critisize and lower their leadership, government or no, political or other.

A section of our nation has the habit of describing black as white in order to justify the unjustifiable.

We are not referring to some exotic disease needing medical specialists or specialist equipment.

The man has a bullet wound, all be it perhaps at an awkward location.
Remember our country has been through a major war.
Regularly our troops get injured ( and killed) on the front line.

We claim to be prepared for another war if we are provoked.

You know, I could say that we also have some people that cannot accept to describe any Armenian realities with nothing but the darkest colors.
Number one is that none of us, including you, are not doctors and familiar with hayrikian's case.
Second, doctors in Armenia saved his life didn't they? His bullet wound has been treated and what he has is a secondary nerve effect.
Third, this gives a message that if need be, national heroes will be sent abroad to get best cures available.
All the other points are nonsence. we claim what we claim. It couldnt be that ahhhhhhh we cannot cure sertain wound effects so we are not ready for war.

I have a deep conviction in me that even if Raffi was a president, or some, lets say most liberal or minority or , lets say Jesus himself. We could talk nothing but black about him.
You know?, the only leaders that we have never talked bad about in their lifetimes have been Stalin, Lenin, Hamid and the likes. That's sad.
When I was teenager, I hated my life in Armenia, while living there. Because everybody around me was nonstop complaining and I, did so without wisdom. My family had a chance and we left in late 70's. The sad fact is that, I know that the only valid complains for me was the communizm. But I was mad at my mother (Armenia). I did not have any solutions in my mind or see any future.
After soviet union collapsed, Armenia's population found out that capitalism was not as rosy as they made themselfs to believe. And the world was not more friendly than communists. There is lies and corruption and rasizm and dark politics. There are more countries that rather never see Armenia existing than friendly ones.
But we go our old way. We miss the old that we lost and curse the reality now.
When a story comes up about a desperate and poor, voices start cursing and complaining about Armenia, Government, Leaders. But no one offers to send a dollar or 100 drams for help.
When news about prostitutes come up, people start commenting so bad about our character or country that you could think that there are only xxxxxs there or that is the only way to survive. But nobody talks about our grandmothers, mothers, sisters and wives that are like saints.
When somebody dies of ilnnes, from the talk you would think that Armenia is a country full of plague. But nobody talks about the saved and cured.
Our favorite words are "ergire ergir che". You know what?, those words have been around long before Serj was president, when I was there and before communists, maybe even before turks. Those are the words that cost us freedom and land.
That is our character. We travel and see the world. But we make the mistake that we expect to see the world on our tiny, rocky land and we are ready to spit on anything less that survives there.

Also you ( Vrej ) mention bentonite and it's use as a lubricant in the drilling process . Interesting .
I used to sail on a 220 ft offshore supply boat taking supplies to an offshore oil rig . One of the main supplies we would take to the oil rig was pallets loaded with sacks of beyroid (sp?) , which is the drilling mud , which is used to lubricate the drilling head and also the specific gravity of beyroid can be manipulated so that it can be made very heavy to stop up flow or contain fluctuating pressures .
I wonder if bentonite is what beyroid is produced from .
I cannot believe there could be a substantial copper or gold deposit and not have the related precious and simi precious stones . Would probably almost impossible or extremely unlikely not to have rocks around .

Psychologists could notice several important changes in Armenia. The first is that there are fewer people in black and more in bright clothes now. On the one hand, this is ascribed to the availability of Western brand shops in Yerevan which have come to replace Turkish clothing on the bargain. On the other hand, this indicates change of idols and culture.
A few years ago, idols of lots of young people were oligarchs and their bodyguards, local strongmen. Half of the population preferred clothes and rules of the criminals and recognized the hierarchy of criminals. Now, the criminal style is no longer popular.
A similar transformation is seen in music preferences. The criminal rabiz music appears on television less frequently, and rock bands perform on the square more often.
All these visual signs prove change in Armenia. The post-Soviet system that existed during the last decade and more and was based on the rules of criminals, when the state was ruled in accordance with the hierarchy of criminals is clearly receding. But it is not clear what will replace it.
The growing European presence in Armenia surely played a role in the pushback of the criminal culture but the Western civilization proposes little good. In parallel to positive demands of democracy and liberalization, the Western civilization is turning the country into a supplier of raw materials which depends heavily on foreign debt and global financial lawlessness.
The society which unexpectedly lost the criminal ground under its feet is still in an active search. This is the reason of the critical behavior, mistrust and cautious waiting. No one knows who will come to replace the “criminals”. So far, there is no understanding that there is no space for the hierarchy in the new state.
In the new state there should not be worship, maybe only honoring. Whatever merits people have, they can’t be idols. You can respect their merits, you can listen to them, but as soon as people recognize superiority of man over them, the whole system collapses.
Perhaps, Jesus would love not to be worshiped but respected. This understanding will come to Armenia where people stopped viewing priests or the authorities as God’s representatives on the Earth.
Hierarchy is suppression of dignity because dignity is realization of one’s equity. In Armenia the hierarchy has been crashed, and a horizontal system is to be built in its place in which each and every person will feel secure about their rights and dignity. And then the city will be painted in all the colors of the rainbow.

I do love the idea that the likes of Vahram are becoming objects of ridicule in Armenia. Nothing hurts the vapidly pompous more than being completely out of fashion. Poor Vahram and his black leather jackets and his rabiz, all consigned to the garbage tip as society moves on.

And forever-banned Mos will be turning in his grave (or digging himself deeper under his rock in darkest Taliban-run Afghanistan) at the thought of those Armenian girls on bikes with flowers and colourful clothes!
