Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

And something we should remember I think is that whether we believe in free will or not, we will never be really free in this world. We aren't here to be Free Willy, lol, if you get my drift.

Bottom line ... Marriage is a whole new world ...... it's just how you perceive it!
LOL, Saco what I mean is you should never feel like you're trapped, in debt to your marriage.... stuck in one job for the rest of your life... never really learning anything past school. Generally I think this is what happens to many people in American culture because they care more about material possessions than their own freedom. And that isn't my culture.

I urge everyone following this thread to read the thread I posted about the life of Atom Egoyan and how he struggled to deal with assimilation.

I guess I just couldn't see the reason behind the rudeness, I did not mean to offend you if you think that was my intention
First of all, what gave you the impression that I've "read your previous posts to see how many Armenians you know"? You said it in your post that you have "never met many Armenians in real life"

Second of all, I don't see anything "defensive" or "rude" in noticing the awkwardness of a situation where someone who EXPLICITLY says that he has "never met many Armenians in real life" is explaining to an Armenian woman how Armenian women are.

Third of all, in the context of your post, what is "defensive" or "rude" in:

"Charms and docility do not always go together, there are non-docile females who are masculine and lack charms, and there are outspoken, independent minded females with plenty of charms.

I said "not all cultures". I don't consider Arabs as a reference when it come to charms and open mindedness, but I can appreciate the refinements and role of geishas in traditional Japanese culture.

First of all, all is relative. Second of all, I said "not all cultures". Most of all, does domestic violence in other cultures justify the situation?"

I'm sorry if that's how you perceived it.

The point I am trying to make is alot of it isn't due to Armenian women, or Mexican women, or Irish women, or Greek women or Muslim women or whatever, its more to do with the fact that alot of men are to blame, and have been pretty much oppressing women for years

Kattie...I am suprised, I am posivetely piddling with joy at the prospect of much more ponderous proceeds to ponder your poignant questions, I am overjoyed and not dismayed, I am overworked and underpaid,

Okay, here is the thing, you got kinda defensive with me, like I was attacking you, that was not my intention, I keep bringing up my point, but ye seem to equivocate knowledge of such bearings in succint summary of the pertaining questions

I state again (and again, and again), men are to a large part to blame, by your own admission and volition, you have said that men expect certain things of women, in this case Armenian men of Armenian women, once again I reiterate that men in general are to blame, you have given us much to think about...now how about a solution, come gives us your views, all this is becoming is personal attacks based on disagreements by all parties involved

As to reading my previous posts...I hoped you did, I hoped somebody did, now I can't feel egotistically superior (

Now, however, I am will take the part a man learning priesthood, and question things because I am human, Kattie raises some points here, our ancestors irrespective of ethnicity had more conservative ideas, people thought differently back then, we cannot use that as a standard to base modern women on, long ago many societies differed, not all were patriarchical, alot of women had more respect than later, what changed this, why did it change?

Women are in general in alot of conservative socities expected to be timid, docile vigins until their marriage, meanwhile the men can sow their wild oats and its seen as allright?

Why that double standard, why is a woman a xxxx of she screws around but a man isn't, alot of people here have said stuff like "date an American girl and screw around, then find a rural Armenian girl to marry as she will be quiet and docile", what if a woman said that "lets screw a few guys and then find a quite timid dude to settle with", how would everyone react

Posts like "Love is not important in marriage", if you don't feel love why the F are you getting married? How do girl feel who you have BS'd and told you love just to get in their panties and sow your juices on

why double standards, sorry if I am offending anyone here, but I have thought of some of what she said and I disagree with some, but with other things she has a point

I digress though, my point stands that in any society, men have alot of guilt in this

Men may have different perception of women’s charm but I would say that women’s femininity is their biggest weapon against man…………..from being a lady in the board room to a tigress in the bedroom which can be used to seduce both socially and sexually.

Men love strong but yet soft feminine women. I believe women should heighten their sensuality as much as they can (ex: wearing a red laced demi-bra with matching thong under your work clothes) even though nobody knows what they are wearing………….but what happens is that the woman will feel/act sexy and her sexiness will ooze out of every pore of her body and that is picked up unconsciously by men. Acting classy, the walk, being gracious, considered, spunky, kind, thoughtful, flirty, bright colors, and turning men down nicely and sweetly.

Do woman use charm deliberately to manipulate men? Yes, many do but not all. Manipulation comes from the mind where charm comes from the heart.

I think this comes from the culture of a warrior where before going into battle, the man would experience being with a woman before he enters a conflict that might end his life. And those who returned alive would come back to raise families.

If you think a woman with discipline and self esteem is quiet and docile... I can show you a couple Armenian women that would beat you down to the last inch of your life if you laid a hand on them And yes, otherwise they can be quite charming
