Re: Diaspora: Does it have a future?

I'm a spiurqahai (axpar ) and I know that the so-called 'Spiurq' is a eventual dead-end. This is a no brainer. However, more Armenians need to come to this realization.
The Spiurq is actually a means towards another genocide, albeit a bloodless one. Any Armenian that thinks he or she is going to 'preserve' an Armenian identity within the Diaspora is living a twisted fantasy. No 'ethnic' diaspora on earth has survived intact, especially within friendly environments. The reason why we still have significant numbers of Armenians in the United States is because of large numbers of Armenians comming from the nations of the former Soviet Union and the Middle East during the last twenty-thirty years.
Imagine what the situation of American Armenians would have been like had there been no such influx of 'off the boat' Armos.
Note: Please don't bring up jooz. They are a militant religious group that has survived because they have been hated universally since the dawn of history. However, even they, in America, are experiancing alarming intermarriage rates.
Personally I'm planning on repatriating to the Fatherland with my family within the next ten years or so. I would like to live somewhere in Nork. In the mean while, I only spend my vacations within the Armenian Rebublic. As far as I'm concerned, any 'proud' Armenian that lives without a real viable physical connection to the homeland is living a sad lie. Nonetheless, as long as we have a diaspora, and we will have one for a while, we should make sure that it serves the Hairenik.
In other words, the homeland must milk the Diaspora while it lasts.
Any Armenian that lives within the Diaspora and does not intend to return to the homeland one day is a long-term waste for our nation. I only hope that these Armenians, while they exist, impact the homeland in a positive manner.
