It's rather ironic that the people who are the shyest also have the strongest sense that the world is revolving around them (for lack of a better phraise) and everyone is looking at them, etc. (I'm not in any way attacking you !EEK; we're all like this to some degree).
SO, maybe you should tell me what you tell them...
Any ice breaking sayings?
Whatever comes to mind. I don't have any pre-fabricated lines, and if I have nothing to say, I say nothing. Oftentimes, this is what bothers people the most, but to be honest, I've never understood why people feel the need to constantly be talking, or why they think silence to be awkward. My whole point is to not worry about what you say. You're asking the wrong questions. Don't ask what you should say, because the idea is for you to not think about it. Your whole problem is that you're think too much. Those who think rather than do are the ones who never get anywhere.
At a store. Because It's a job where you constantly need to communicate with people, and having to constantly talk to random people, it becomes reflexive, and comes out naturally.

Sure, well, I think I'm able to do this but not where I live.... I'm born in the dutch part of belgium but was raised in a french envirnonement (school/mother/media I watch) and my dutch is thus pretty crappy.. .
