Everyone is free to do whatever he wants to do as long as he doesn't limit someone else's liberties.

I can not believe that we are actually debating about this issue.

Im from Canada and i guess there isnt much Armenians in British Columbia, so i guess i should date Canadian girls because as someone pointed out i dont love my country (Armenia) or its culture? Give me a break. And im not gona get married to a stranger, but someone i love, so its probably gona be a Canadian girl, and it doesnt matter if her ethnicity is German or English or whatever if she is Christian thats good enough for me. Im not gona go to Armenia and meet the family of a girl i just met and marry her. If i lived in L.A where there is alot of Armenians my thoughts might be different and i might agree with you guys.
          Maybe you haven't looked well?

Since religion also seems to be important to you, here are two Armenian churches in Vancouver.

St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church (Richmond, Vancouver B.C.)
          Tel: 604-276-9627

St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church (Vancouver, B.C.) tel (604) 261-7411

Where there are Armenian churches, there are likely to be Armenians.

Maybe in China there is a sportsbike brand with the name wang-ker, but that doesn't mean you should to use it as a screen name!

Re: What do you guys think? Armenian w/ non-Armenian?

There are members in my family that are married to non-Armenians. And though I see these couples happy with many children, most of the time they are isolated from the rest of the family. For example, recently at a wedding this couple attended, the husband (Armenian) was having fun speaking to everyone there while the wife (non-Armenian) was unable to understand what is going on (i.e. can not speak Armenian) and had no idea about the cultural rituals of an Armenian wedding. Also, there are many nuances that occur in any culture, including Armenian, which are very hard to grasp by people not of the same background.

And finally, as an Armenian I consider it important to be with an Armenian. This is not just because I want Armenian kids (though this is also important) but also because I feel that the relationship will be more compatible due to more "similar" ground to begin with. Relationships and marriage are hard as it is, especially now, I think that having a "mixed" marriage only adds more mountains to climb.

On the other hand, if there are no suitable Armenians, happiness is the most important thing. I find having a family, children included, very important. Thus if I do not meet an Armenian, I will marry someone of a different background that is most compatible to create a family!

Question: When was it ever established that happiness was the most important thing? Who decided this? And what makes happiness somehow better than not being happy, but just being plain old content?

That wasn't my point. Happiness is not something that comes externally. I am already happy as it is. Why is there such a hang up with happiness, when it is only a perspective out of many?
