1. We have no significant natural resources
2. 80% of our borders are blockaded
3. We are landlocked
3. We have 2 neighbors many times our strength who want to wipe us off the map


Please explain how any of these facts are 'exaggerated'





All countries have problems. Georgia's and Azerbaijan's problems are due to their own stupidity (becoming hostile towards Russia, not knowing how to deal with domestic problems, etc). Armenia's problems are different because most of them have to do with our history and current geography, not the stupidity of our leaders. I'm not saying our leaders are geniuses, but its clear that most of our problems existed before our leaders were elected.





At the current pace, Georgia will not survive. They just lost 1/4 of their country to Russians, and they have major domestic problems. They are only staying alive because they rely heavily on Turkey & Azerbaijan (is this what you want for Armenia?).

Azerbaijan has a little more leverage than Georgia and Armenia because they have OIL. You keep comparing Armenia to Azerbaijan & Turkmenistan but you don't realize they have nothing in common. When it comes to Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, anyone can see:

1. Both countries have lots of natural resources (oil).
2. Both countries have wide open borders.
3. Both countries have access to the sea.
4. Neither country has active military threats from larger countries.

Basically, they have NONE of the major problems Armenia has. If you want to compare Armenia to any other entity, you can compare them to the Gaza Strip. They have exactly the same problems we do. I can safely say we are many years ahead of the Gaza Strip.

P.S.P.S.P.S:P.S. Level of coruption in Georgia that "will not survive" are much lower than in Armenia. It is concidered much more free and liberal country (for trade).

P.S- Gaza Strip has access to sea

ArmSurvival is right. Gaza Strip is supposed to have access to the sea but it does not. Israel has a naval blockade on the Gaza Strip.

Gaza -Strip has access to sea-Gaza Strip is not landlocked country. Israely blockad is another issue.

What's the point of having a sea when you cannot use it? In the case of Gaza Strip, having a sea is actually bad for them since it gives Israel another way to blockade the country.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former advisor to Azerbaijani president Heydar Aliyev Vafa Guluzade said that the Armenian troops would have occupied major part of Azerbaijan in 1994, if it were not for the West’s support of Baku.

Guluzade said in an article published by Yeni Musavat paper and placed on Caucasus-Online website that the oil factor was the decisive one in the 1994 agreement on ceasefire in Karabakh. Otherwise, the Armenian troops would have reached Kura River and Kurdamir in the central part of Azerbaijan, what would have jeopardized Azerbaijan’s existence as a state. “Only the interest of the U.S. towards Azerbaijan prevented implementation of these plans,” said Guluzade.

He believes that energy resources and transit opportunities of Azerbaijan have secured the West’s interest towards the country, what has protected the country’s independence.

“Azerbaijan’s independence would have been formal, if it were not for the American interests. Right the oil factor has secured Azerbaijan’s importance for the western states. Oil, gas and transit potential of Azerbaijan increase its role for the West and allow withstanding Russia,” Guluzade said, adding that greater integration with the West would only strengthen Baku’s international positions.

Israely blockade is not a geographical asset. It will end eventually... or Gaza Strip will end... both ways OK by me
