Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

    Mos you have much to learn about the world yet and i hope your a young man so that perhaps with time you will learn the important lessons of life which you badly need. Scaring off these Iranians is the worst possible thing you can do for Armenia. The explanations of why it is such a bad thing have been given to you by different people here in different ways. The fact that you still feel the way you do means you are not using logic nor are you interested in doing what is right for our country. Whatever personal issue you have with Iranians pales in comparson to the issues facing our country. If you ever gave a rats ass about Armenia you should stop haressing these tourists because they are setting up the foundations for different sectors of Armenias economy. If a iranian dude slept with some chik you liked then thats life-GET OVER IT! Stop hurting our countries future and go do something constructive with yourself.

          Ashot your points are very valid about the iranian turcks being more iranian then turck. Unfortunatly many people do indeed think like Mos because they are accustomed to seeing nothing but Armenians in Armenia and it is easy to see how a influx of nonarmenians can make these people feel that their dear country is being overruned by foreighners. The truth is (as i have extensively covered this topic before in a different thread) Armenia badly needs diversity and the benefits derived from it. These foreigners spending time and money in Armenia is the best thing that has happened to Armenia in a looooong time and it can get much-MUCH better. This goes along with what i have written before about being accepting of others and how this accaptence can lead to a better and stronger society and country. Like every one else, should some of these iranians decide to settle in our country they will assimilate (sme more then others) and actually increase our population, economy, taxbase, militeray strength, .... I think you get the point. It is time for Armenia to grow for a change instead of always shrinking.

                The general mood in Armenia that I've felt is anti-Iranian just because they do a lot of hooligan things in Yerevan. Like drug dealing, women trafficking, and becoming territorial (this club is for iranians only). And also they know that police can't do anything to them because they don't have armenian passport so they do what they want. That is fact. The other European tourists have much better behavior and respect towards Armenia and thus we are much more open to them.

                Immigration has to be tougher in the sense that these Iranians can't be given green light to just come and start living in Armenia as smugglers and crooks.

                    Not everyone Mos, come on! There are good people and bad people, but you can't judge who is who just from their ethnic background. Any people can come, and bad people will come...but Europeans are as corrupted and damaged as anybody can be, the fact their Europeans or of whatever religion has nothing to do with what kind of people they are.

                    We are friendly people and I don't think we can be getting around "anti-" anything feelings, Hayastancis may feel sort of weird about it, knowing very well that tourism to our country, at least in such a big number, is not very common, but I don't believe we can be feeling some kind of animosity towards anybody. We are friendly people who receive other with open arms, that kind of warm people is one of the reasons they prefer to go to Armenia. We are a friendly and warm country with truthful people who respect each other, and anybody with a bit of common sense would prefer to go to Armenia rather than to a country where hate and animosity towards others is widely promoted

                    And Iranians are our friends, much more than anybody around can be. It's the only friendly country we share a border with and they are happy the Armenian border with Iran is bigger through NKR (which is yet another reason why to NOT give back any territory!), tourism from Iran is present now in Armenia and is a good thing since it helps our economy and to build more ties of friendship. Imagine Mos, what a good deal it would be to side the the regions two more important potencies, Russia and Iran, maybe we could in a future build a pipeline through our territory! We can only get good things coming out of this friendship more than we can get from getting friendly with Turkey or Georgia.

                      I agree with Ashot. Iran is our friendliest neighbor and it is very normal to host them in great numbers. Mos, what you and many other Armenians in hayastan feel is understandible and it is due to the long isolation and homogenous nature of our country. We are so used to seeing nothing but Armenians in Armenia that seeing foreighners especialy muslims and blacks seems like a very abnormal thing when in reality it is a very healthy sighn of economic growth and national progression and prosperity. Yes Iranians can be your friends to if you gave them half the chance. Many armenians including members of this forum have iranian friends and iranians are very important business partners to armenian businesses. Hate will get you nowhere fast-try opening your heart and you may be pleasently surprised by what you find.
