Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

When I hear of Russian Hysteria going on in Maskva nowdays, do not know why, I tend to remember of an episode not so old:
If Russians would like to forget their betrayal, we can not:
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Talking "ally" instead of acting one.
      This is the real Russia.

What matters in fact, are actions, groundless declarations on supporting Armenia, done by some second grade Russian officials, is the only benefit we got.

But even in the "talking" part they don't give full preference to Armenia, they support Armenians and Azeries "equally".

When the war breaks out and the Russian weapon above will destroy Armenia, they will condemn azery actions strongly. Enjoy our talking ally.

What we need now most is an acting ally, regardless how powerful it is, because even Turkey may serve for us as a talking ally, if asked.

I'd prefer one small acting ally over hundreds of powerful talking ones.

Armenia has a complimentary foreign policy.
This is Russian complimentary policy in reverse.

In order to run such a high risk ( complimentary) policy we need very very skilled Politicians (Foreign Minister, President etc.).
If along the way we get a bum Politician all the work and good will developed goes out of the window.

Putting it another way, choosing to have six wives is easy.
Keeping them all happy very difficult if not impossible.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Russia acts in its own interest and that is no reason to demonize it like many here do. Sure it arms the azeris along with a us and a hundred other nations. If Russia was not there the azeris could afford to buy weapons from the west but we could not. It does not take a genius to understand such basic things but the anti russian mob here is strong in its dilusional hatred of the only thing that keeps the Armenian nation in existence. Serj has been running the "complimentary foreign policy" much better then many believed was possible. It is rather hypocritical of you people to demand that Armenia act in its own interest while demanding Russia to act in Armenias interest as well. Russia is not our sugar daddy so do not expect it to act like one.

            Totally disagree.

There is something that is bothering Russia and finds us very obstinate.
It could be the EuroAsian treaty or something below the radar.

I say this because of the way it is ratcheting things up.

First Gas prices ( economy) and now arms ( security).
I do not see the end yet.

I am afraid under bullying pressure Armenia will give in sooner than Russia will give up, at a great economic, security and diplomatic cost.

I do not call this successful complimentary policy.

Armenia faces pressures from all directions--this is nothing new. What is new is the strategy of getting something from opposing sides as they try to woo you into their corner. This strategy of playing the west vs the east has paid off for Armenia in a number of ways. Just look at how much trade Armenia does now with the EU and you will see that it pays. The people you support like Raffi are simply trying to destroy Armenia by spreading the kinds of propaganda the likes of you and gagev are so eager to swallow up. Remember that the west is heavily under the zionist influence and the zionists consider us Armenians as pests to be gotten rid of. This is just one part of the reason among many others why embracing the west is like embracing death to Armenia. The thing is that there is so much evidence that the west means us harm that there shouldnt be this much speculation about who our friends are but yet here you are speculating away. You remember what our kind European Germans did to us during the genocide? How about what the wonderful Britts did to us before that? If you are not a student of history and you do not understand the previous two references well then how about what Hungry did to us just recently? You see a trend here? If you think that Russia is a unreliable partner then you should think that the west is a deadly enemy because that is how it has always acted towards us. Look at the facts and you will find that there are not so many options for little ole Armenia but hey i guess you and some others here can play a game of pretending and alternate reality.

When it comes to arms sell anybody can sell arms to anybody, let your conscious be your guide ....and as far as the West and Russia, none are our friends and only our geographical position with geo-politics of the region sets our fate as a small nation if our leaders are able to balance between these empires.

The only think that bugs me about Russian sales to enemy is that they assure that Armenia can not go on the offensive effectively to regain the occupied Armenian lands by the Azeris unless ready to give too many casualties which they know damn well we cant effort.

Currently the last one seems to be very happy. But I have no idea about the rest.
